Email Viruses - A Nightmare Waiting to Happen

Thursday 16 January 2003

Stuart Taylor, Head of the Virus Laboratory at Sophos plc, will present a brief history of viruses, focussing on how the problem has changed from 15 years ago to the present day with a focus on just how large the problem really is in the light of the rapid technological change over the last few years. The presentation will also include a review of the current viruses and a look at what can be expected in the future.

Stuart joined Sophos in 1997, bringing his programming experience into the world of analysis. Since 1999 Stuart has lead virus analysis and research within Sophos, and in 2001 he took over responsibility for the virus engine development team. Stuart has presented papers at EICAR and a variety of other conferences and seminars.

Sophos plc, a world leader in anti-virus protection, is strongly focused on the corporate marketplace where its vision, commitment to research and development, and rigorous attention to quality have taken it from strength to strength.
